The shop

Thirty years
on Route 12.

Doris Stephens opened Doris’s Barber Shop in 1996 and spent the better part of thirty years turning a little clapboard shop in Greene into a place the whole town passes through.

These days Jenna’s the one in the chair — the only barber, and the one who runs the place. Same steady hands, same fair price, same easy conversation the shop was built on. New face, same feeling: you sit down, you catch up, you leave looking sharp.

And by the window, keeping an eye on the whole operation, there’s Walter — the basset hound who’s as much a fixture around here as the barber pole out front.
